What if you don’t feel like slowing down so everyone else can catch up? We have some helpful tips to keep you going and keep you ahead of the pack. Your immune system is linked to your health, so in order to have a strong immune system you need to have good health. Good news is that you can take steps to improve your health and immune system at the same time.

By this point in 2020 we have all heard about the importance of washing our hands, wearing masks to prevent germ spread, and keeping our distance. These are all important steps we can take to decrease the risk of germs getting into our body. But a strong immune system is your best defense one the germs do get in and living a healthy lifestyle is an easy way to keep your immune system in fighting condition.

So what can you do to make sure your health is at its best? Here are some tips

  • Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. Try to get at least 2 to 3 servings of different fruits and vegetables daily. The more color in your diet the better! In addition to keeping you from getting bored with the same foods, eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables ensures you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
  • Get enough sleep each night. Sleep is when the body repairs and restores itself; a lack if sleep increases stress hormones, lowers immunity and makes you more likely to get sick and gain weight.   • Maintain a healthy weight. When you’re carrying around extra pounds that it more stress on your body. Being overweight also affects your sleep quality and ability to stay active.
  • Staying active helps boost your immune system and improves your health! Exercise promotes circulation, aids in cardiovascular and respiratory health, boosts feelings of well-being and decreases stress. Recent studies show that just 10 to 20 minutes of exercise a day are enough to make a big difference in your health and your waistline!
