Dr. Z is a 1998 graduate from the New York Chiropractic College, where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic. He founded and opened Universal Chiropractic in 2004. Dr. Z specializes in the treatment of spinal disc injuries. He is certified in the Koren Technique (2007), Kennedy Decompression Technique (2008), the Neuromechanical Technique (2009) and the Whitten Technique (2014). Dr. Z utilizes low force adjusting techniques, postural correction techniques, full spine and full body strengthening programs, as well as nutritional consults.
Dr. Alana Flitt, D.C.
Dr. Alana received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology in 2009 from SUNY Fredonia and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2013 from D’Youville College.
She is certified in Graston® Technique, an innovative form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization that is used to break down scar tissue or fascial and muscle restrictions.
Dr. Alana also has a special interest in treating expectant mothers and pediatric patients. She is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in the Webster Technique, which has exceptional benefits for pregnant women. She strongly believes that chiropractic treatment of children, in addition to helping to reduce pain, can help promote wellness, reducing illness and encouraging optimal health, putting a child on the right path for health and wellness into adulthood. She regularly adjusts her son.
Dr. Marshall Dornink, D.C.
Dr. Dornink received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from UW-La Crosse in 2003, his Master’s degree in Kinesiology/Sport Psychology from the University of North Dakota in 2006 and his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from D’Youville College in 2014.
Dr. Dornink is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Prior to graduating from D’Youville College he worked as an Athletic Trainer at SUNY-Binghamton, where he cared for the Division I athletes on the Volleyball, Wrestling and Swimming/Diving teams. He has also worked as a personal trainer for the past 5 years working with a variety of clients and athletes and believes that improving strength and stability in the muscles that act on the spine can be a key component of better spine health. He is also certified in the Graston® technique.
When not working he enjoys strength training and has competed as a power lifter and strongman.
Dr. Tarah M. Wetherby, DC
Dr. Tarah received her Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Brockport in 2009 and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from D’Youville College in 2013. After graduation, she relocated to Pittsburgh to begin her career, and in 2014 she returned to Buffalo to continue chiropractic care and be closer to friends and family. Dr. Tarah enjoys treating patients of all ages and is committed to making Buffalo healthier by educating patients of the importance of spinal health and chiropractic care.
Dr. Tarah is also certified in the Graston Technique®.
Office Manager, CA
Lauren is both the office manager and a chiropractic/medical assistant. She has been employed with Universal Chiropractic since September 2012. Lauren is a college graduate from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Business Administration. While there, she completed performance research work with college level athletes. Lauren currently attends D’Youville College where she plans to obtain her Master’s Degree and licensure as a Physician Assistant. Lauren was also a club swimmer at the competitive level for twelve years. She is currently a CrossFit athlete and is training to compete in both CrossFit competitions as well as triathlons.
Christina Summerville, PT
Christina Summerville graduated from the SUNY at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1995. She is a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Christina became interested in treating trigger points when she experienced chronic pain herself while in her mid 30’s. She studied trigger point massage independently through book study and taking a course in NYC. This was her first step in becoming free from chronic pain. Since then she has become the only MELT Method® Instructor in WNY and is one of three certified Yoga Tune Up® Instructors in WNY.
Theresa M. Weiskerger, LMT
Theresa is a licensed massage therapist. She obtained her degree and licensure from the New York Institute of Massage in 2003. Theresa practices Swedish, Deep tissue, Hot stone, Sports and Medical massage techniques.
Elizabeth is a medical secretary. She has been employed with Universal Chiropractic since June 2014. Elizabeth is a college graduate of Buffalo State College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness in 2013. While in school, she implemented and evaluated health promotion programs to encourage healthy living and disease prevention. Elizabeth eventually plans on returning to school to continue her education with a Master’s Degree in Health Administration.
